Christian "Chris" Marlowe (born September 28, 1951) is a former volleyball standout and current professional American sportscaster based in Denver, Colorado.

Marlowe is currently the play-by-play announcer for the Denver Nuggets (he enjoys using the phrase "since Hector was a pup") of the National Basketball Association (NBA). All of the telecasts are shown on the Altitude Sports and Entertainment network. Marlowe also served as the play-by-play announcer for NBC Sports coverage of Beach Volleyball at the 2008 Summer Olympics. [1]

Before joining the Nuggets in 2004, Marlowe spent over a decade at NBC, covering the NBA, beach volleyball, and various Olympic sports. Along with assignments for Fox Sports Net, Marlowe was the announcer for every Association of Volleyball Professionals event in the late 1980s and early 1990s. He was also an occasional anchor on the Southern California Sports Report.

Marlowe, along with several others, was a play-by-play man for the XFL during its first and only season in 2001. He was responsible for calling the Sunday night contest on UPN, with Brian Bosworth as his color man.

Marlowe was a two-sport standout at Pacific Palisades High School in Los Angeles, California. He went on to play both basketball and volleyball at San Diego State University (SDSU), and was the starting setter on SDSU's NCAA Championship team of 1973. He was twice voted USA Volleyball's Most Valuable Player (1976 and 1978). On the beach circuit, Marlowe won eight open tournaments, including two Manhattan Beach Opens and the 1977 World Championship. Marlowe's athletic career culminated as team captain of the 1984 gold medal-winning United States Olympic Volleyball team.

The athletic honors continued with his induction into both the San Diego State Aztec Hall of Fame and the California Beach Volleyball Hall of Fame in 1994.[2]
